Ultrasonic Welding Method

Ultrasonic Welding - sealing process where electrical energy is changed into mechanical vibratory energy at ultrasonic frequencies. The vibrations are transmitted through the work piece to the joint area where the vibratory energy is converted to heat through friction that melts the plastic. When the molten state is reached at the part interface, vibration is stopped; pressure is maintained briefly on the part while the molten plastic solidifies creating a strong molecular bond.

Suitable Materials for Untrasonic Welding:

  • PVC
  • Polypropylene
  • Polystyrene
  • Nylon
  • Olefin
