What is Polo Custom Products minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

At Polo Custom Products, our approach is tailored to meet the needs of each project, which means our MOQ is not based on a fixed number of units. Instead, it is determined by the overall value of the project, taking into consideration various factors such as the product type, production requirements, raw material needs, location considerations, and more.

Our target customers are large OEMs within the medical, industrial, fire & safety, aviation, and government industries looking for high volume launch and production scaling. We invite inquiries from businesses in these fields seeking a manufacturing partner who understands the complexities of their requirements and can offer tailored solutions.

None. Polo Custom Products specializes in custom manufacturing solutions, tailoring each product to the specific needs of our OEM customers across various industries. What is Berry Compliant?

Berry Compliant means the product offered is 100% domestic and/or meets the requirements set forth in 41 U.S.C. § 4862 (aka Berry Amendment)

What is the Berry Amendment?

The Berry Amendment is a statutory requirement that restricts the Department of Defense (DoD) from procuring food, clothing, fabrics, fibers, yarns, other made-up textiles, and hand or measuring tools that are not produced, grown, or reprocessed in the United States. The Berry Amendment has been critical to the viability of the textile and clothing production base in the United States.

Congress originally passed domestic source restrictions as part of the 1941 Fifth Supplemental DoD Appropriations Act in order to protect the domestic industry base in the time of war. The Berry Amendment was included in subsequent defense appropriations acts until it was made permanent in 1994 by Sec. 8005 of Public Law 103-139. The Berry Amendment was subsequently codified in 2002 as 10 U.S.C. 2533a in Section 832 of Public Law 107-107.

What is RF Welding?

RF or Radio-frequency Welding, also known as Dielectric Welding and high-frequency welding, is a thermoplastic film welding process that utilizes radio frequency, typically at 27MHz, to create sufficient heat in thermoplastic materials to reach the melting point of the material. The rapidly alternating electric field is applied by a sealing die to create the required seal geometry and pneumatic pressure is applied and maintained until the material in the seal area solidifies. This plastic joining process is preferred due to its low cycle time, strength of seal, and repeatable seal aesthetics. The downside of RF Welding is that only thermoplastic materials with a bipolar molecular structure (dipole) can be heated using RF energy and therefore not all films and materials can be welded using this process. The process works best when welding thin Urethane or PVC films.

What is the Berry Amendment and when does it apply?

The Berry Amendment, as defined above, applies if/when the DoD includes Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 252.225-7012 in the procurement contract and when the contract exceeds the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT).

What is a smart textile?

Smart textiles, also known as smart fabrics and electronic textiles, are textile materials that contain electronic circuitry or components which add features or capabilities to the material. The electronic components or circuitry can be added to a textile-based product or integrated into a textile

What is DDTC Registration?

The State department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) is charged with controlling the export and temporary import of defense articles and defense services described on the United States Munitions List, in accordance with the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). In general, the DDTC regulates defense services and defense articles to prevent dangerous items and data from falling into the wrong hands so for a company to export a product or information, they must register with the DDTC and secure an export license for that product or information.

DDTC seeks to facilitate legitimate defense trade to partners and allies, while denying adversaries access to sensitive U.S. technology. This can be done through the Defense Logistics Agency’s JCP Certification program that allows United States or Canadian contractors to apply for access to Department of Defense/Department of National Defense (DOD/DND) unclassified export controlled technical data/critical technology on an equally favorable basis in accordance with DODD 5230.25, “Withholding of Unclassified Technical Data and Technology from Public Disclosure,” and Canadian Technical Data Control Regulations.
